Located in the foothills of the Appalachians, you will find one of the Bureau of Prisons most modern facilities. FCI Manchester, Clay County, Kentucky, was officially dedicated in November 1992. It is a medium security level facility for male offenders. The adjacent satellite camp houses minimum security level male offenders. Manchester, the county seat, is situated in the southern portion of the Eastern Kentucky coal fields. Larger areas are easily accessible via the Hal Rogers Parkway, U.S. 421, and I-75. The town is located 173 miles south of Cincinnati, Ohio; 120 miles north of Knoxville, Tennessee; and 99 miles southeast of Lexington, Kentucky.
